Today’s holiday is all about taking some time to yourself and doing something you really want to do. Rich pointed out to me awhile ago that a lot of these holidays involve me being lazy. And your point is…? Isn’t that the beauty of celebrating holidays? Doing fun stuff? To honor today’s extra special holiday, I attempted to take a little afternoon nap. This was while Roman was also down for his daily snooze. As soon as my head hit the pillow, guess who woke up? Then guess who decided it would be fun to try to pull all of mom’s hair out while she was attempting to relax. Attempt 1…fail. Later, Roman was getting sleepy again. Perfect opportunity for my nap, right? Wrong again. Although he had fallen asleep out in the living room, when I tried to transfer him to his crib all hell broke loose. No nap for Roman, hence no nap for Hayley. Failure #2. I gave up on the nap plan after that. I decided I would instead paint my nails and enjoy some chocolate:

Not completely sold on the color, but I’m always up for something new. I’m eating chocolate chips because that is the only chocolate we have in the house. Rich and I lack a little something called willpower. No cookies/candy/chocolate is safe in our cupboards. I enjoyed my mini me time today. It’s always good to do something nice for yourself sometimes.

Wow. There are some goodies in there. All of the ones that are in bold are songs that I currently have on my ipod. I was surprised I didn’t have more. Only 11 out of 100. AND 6 of those 11 are 80’s songs. Notice a trend here? To make this interesting I picked my top 5 and turned them into the Survey of the Month! Vote for your favorite out of these choices:

As always, you only get ONE vote so choose wisely. Looking back on some of these songs I find a lot of funny memories. That is what I love about music, it can transport you back to such specific events in your life. Hope you all got a kick out of this list and enjoyed some happy thoughts of your own today.

Song of the Day:

I sure had a lot to choose from today! I had to go with a clip from one of my fav movies, Party Monster – the Two of Hearts (#99) scene. A-mazing dance moves by Seth Green:

P.S. – “Money, success, fame, glamour”…..I feel the need to watch this movie right this instant. Yes, I own it…and the book…
