I have satellite radio. Mainly because it’s free for a year, but I solely listen to this rather than terrestrial radio. I like it better for one reason…there are no commercials. So, to celebrate radio commercials today is difficult since I typically try to avoid them. On this date in 1922 the first radio commercial was broadcast. There have been millions more since then, some good and some bad. I am going to remember some of the best radio commercials that have been made in semi-recent history….Bud Light’s Real Men of Genius. These truly were genius, good work on the funny radio commercials, we salute you!

Yes, the clip is of the actual television commercials, but these started on the radio. The radio ads were so popular they ended up carrying the ad campaign over to tv. Wow….that dancing guy looks a lot like Rich…..

We have 3 laptops. No, we are not IT crazies either. Only 1 is actually fully functional. We have our old old Dell that we ended up laying to rest about 8 months ago. It was working okay at the time and it still contains my itunes library. So I periodically have to use it because I have not had the time or energy to figure out how to transfer that whole debacle. After we got our new laptop in January, the Dell lived in our spare room. It ended up on the floor under a large pile of clothing and therefore it got stepped on….now the screen has a large black spot on it. Nice. Our replacement computer, the Gateway, was working great until Roman got to it. I admit, we were careless with this one as well and left is laying on the living room floor (closed, of course) quite frequently. Well, Roman decided to use it as a trampoline one day and completely crushed the screen. Great, now we had 2 laptops with cracked screens. The Gateway’s screen is totally unreadable, we hook it up to our tv when we need to pull stuff off of it. We went and got another new computer (with the FULL warranty this time) just this month. It is a HP, we obviously do not have loyalty to any brand as you can see. The purpose of today’s holiday is to let loose and allow yourself to enjoy some crackers over your keyboard without worrying about the crumbs. Interesting, but let’s do it! Here I am chowing down over all three keyboards. Hey, when I celebrate I go big!

My cracker of choice: graham. They were leftover from s’mores day. Delish AND crumbly.

Clip of the Day:

Be sure to drink your Ovaltine scene from A Christmas Story. This is when Ralphie learns about the power of advertising….or the crappiness of it.

P.S. – Be sure to drink your Ovaltine. Ovaltine? A crummy commercial? Son of a bitch!
